We want to get on the adoption ride. We just don't know when and how. Do you know that it costs a bit more than $60,000.00 to adopt two children from Russia? How do people do it, and how will we raise that much money? HOW?!
Hey Kelli, I just completed a blog on adoption fully unaware of your post (didn't want you to think I was talking to you in my blog at all). It is a LOT of money. There is such great need, but there are also such great hurdles! Have you considered domestic at all?
Danielle, I looked into domestic adoption. Even though it is easier on the bank account, we feel pulled to do an international adoption. I just don't know HOW to do it...
I have some relatives who adopted from Russia and it has been a hard road. The child has environmental autism from the way she was not taken care of her first year of life in the orphanage. They aren't held or anything. She's a sweet girl (maybe 7 years old now), but still has a lot of problems from her first year.
